Road to Yala

The Sita temple near Nuwara Eliya is said to be the site from the Ramayana where Sita, Rama’s wife, was kept when kidnapped by Ravana. Behind the temple in the river are several depressions said to be the prints of Hanuman from his visit to her.

The drive from the hill country to the southern coast goes through more stunning hills and passes the famous Ravena Falls, seen in the last photo.
