MonasteryAfter climbing an 800-step mountain path, you arrive at "Ad Deir", or "The Monastery". It dates from the 1st century B.C. and is the latest monument at Petra. Absolutely breath-taking, although your breath is probably mostly gone already after the hour-long hike. Many other caves can be seen, carved from the sandstone cliffs.
