KerakA castle from the Crusades, taking up most of a promontory with fantastic views of the valley approaches on all sides. Originally constructed in the 1140s, it was most known for the Seige of Kerak, when Saladin tried to beseige the castle with various rams and catapults, but carefully avoiding hitting the chamber of the newly-married prince and princess therein due to his chivalric code.
