Jerash

Also known as Gerasa, a Greco-Roman city dating back to 2000 BC. Definitely one of the best preserved Roman sites in the Middle East. Features a hippodrome (with daily chariot races and parades), a nearly-intact oval-shaped Forum with a long colonnaded street stretching to the north, a temple to Zeus, and some very nice amphitheaters with excellent acoustics.
