AqabaCoastal city in the far south of Jordan, on the Gulf of Aqaba, originally settled as far back as 4000 BC. Features a fort originally built by the Mamluks. This city is well-known today from the Battle of Aqaba, featured heavily in the movie Lawrence of Arabia.
