Al-HarranaA desert castle near the border with Saudi Arabia. Probably built sometime during the 8th century (based on a piece of graffiti on the second floor). Some say it might have been a waystation or rest stop, but it was a bit off the major trade routes and far from any source of water, so its exact purpose is still in dispute.
