YangonFormer capital, and formerly known as Rangoon, this remains the largest city in Burma. The effects of embargo and restrictive economic policy are everywhere, from the limited goods in the market to the beautiful but decaying buildings. The black market clearly does good business, though, witness the many western good with Thai labels. Aside from a few government projects, there are few public gathering places where we are allowed.
