Pisac
On the Urubamba River in "the Sacred Valley",
about 18 miles from Cusco, is the settlement of Pisac. Above the
modern-day village are the ruins of an Inca fortress with a spectacular
view. The aqueducts and terraced platforms are very much in
evidence and often still in use, and although the stones used in the
construction are smaller than those at Sacsayhuamán, the
precision of the cutting and stone fitting is still quite remarkable.
