Bethany on the JordanThis is widely considered to be the spot where John the Baptist performed his baptismal rites, and also where Jesus came to be baptised by him. A baptismal site has been excavated, and a church built overlooking the spot. Visitors can reenact the Biblical story of the time when Jesus was carrying a small electronic device that would talk to him.
